Webinars Build IM Communities.

Participating in webinars can either be a real pain if it’s one of those horrible boring ones about another regurgitated IM stuff. And then there’s that drone…drone…drone…ZZZZZZzzzzz (sorry, that’s myself).

Then once in a while you get yourself into a gem and you’re stuck on it again and again. You listen in and get compelled to participate even if it is the repeat webinar. The the very best ones you simply get stuck on it - in fact, hundreds of people get stuck on it like insects to a flame (without that burning insect smell).

I have a confession, I got drawn in by one - the very first time a webinar got my attention so strongly.
I never thought about it until now, and here’s what I think happened…

1) A big success story - The Blog King himself Jack Humphrey - sent out a couple of e-mails to his list and drove a very expectant list of people to this webinar called The 16 Steps To Success. Here’s the Blog - CLICK HERE.

2) Excitement apart, even within the very first webinar, everyone was raving about the fantastic content for FREE!

3) Then the guy, the MAN, SAM Clark, was doing the delivery. A very friendly, personable voice who really connects with everyone in a very genuine tireless way for over 2 hours at a time. It was always a tip a minute. Never boring.

4) Not convinced? Hundreds still stay after the webinar to chat and ask questions and then simply let their hair down and be one of the guys. And you bet, Sam stays to chill out, answer questions, be a resource and plays his kind of music. And who can wonder about his rapport.

The 16 Steps To Success is probably the best Webinar I’ve ever participated in about an Internet Business Training Program.

If you don’t know Jack, you must have been living in the dark internet ages.

And Static web sites is your game. The vast majority of websites are still static - meaning they simply do not allow interaction with other people - a very anti-social act I must say. And if you stay there, you are out of internet luck. These days, it’s akin to being adrift at sea well off the shipping lanes. No one will find you.

In fact, it’s social sites - websites that are by their very design become naturally interactive. Most popular are the blogs and sometimes specially designed membership sites or social networking site giants like Facebook or Myspace. These days, You Tube or Metacafe or Google Video and a host of others get the lion’s share of the world wide web’s attention. Social marketing is simply the best way to go.

The best way I can demonstrate how it all works is by introducing you to one man that describes it best of all. Well, this is a strange way to write about an Online Community or a social network but Jack Humphrey.com epitomises social networking. He through his site is a social network of followers. Let’s see why: to begin, just type into the search engines Jack Humphrey and you’ll see that he has already developed a Guru personna when it comes to Social Networks and Social Marketing.

There’s the Authority Site Center which has over 400 members when membership sites were still in it’s infancy.

Then there’s the Content Desk which he co-founded with Mark Braunstein, Power Linking series of courses, the Authority Black Book, consultant for Netsmart Media, and…and…I don’t want to post his resume here but here’s a list of his coaching and articles he has written about: Online marketing, linking, buzz, PR, search engine optimization, coaching, consulting, project management, brainstorming, technology breakthroughs, and looking to the future of online marketing every day of the week for the past 10 years and counting. Of course we won’t forget that he is all over the internet’s social networking and bookmarking sites. Phew!

How does one find him? It’s easy. He’s everywhere. You can learn from his tips (these alone are worth their weight in gold) on his blogs or sign in for his Friday Traffic Report - this is his central site. Also, join his community like Social Marketing Central - a Ning community he’s developing.

Now, one great piece of advice Jack gives is to help each other out as a community of independent website owners, regardless of whether you have a blog or not.
